A non-profit 501(c)3 organization
Gateway Alliance Project, “the GAP,” is a group of system impacted leaders pursuing bold reform of criminal justice policies and practices, to support a successful reentry journey for formerly incarcerated individuals, and to provide alternatives to diversion for opportunity young adults (16-24).

Vision
We imagine a community free of permanent punishments, where all its citizens have access to opportunities which allows them to live financially independent lives, ending post-conviction poverty, and closing the school-to-prison pipeline here in North Texas.
Support Our Vision
Did you know that over 70 million Americans have an old criminal record? This reality exposes them to more than 40,000 collateral consequences, leading to a life of post-conviction poverty.
In Texas, mass incarceration is devastating families and communities, disproportionately impacting women and people of color, while costing the state billions. At Gateway Alliance Project, we envision a community where every individual has access to opportunities that foster financial independence and end post-conviction poverty.
Our mission at GAP is to enhance rehabilitation, reduce recidivism, and support safe and healthy communities through re-entry programs and wrap-around services for formerly incarcerated individuals. We advocate for alternative solutions that promote individual and community wellbeing beyond traditional punitive measures.
We need your support to make this vision a reality. Every gift is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law and will directly impact the lives of formerly incarcerated women and at-risk youth. If you believe in creating opportunities for all Texans to thrive, please consider investing in Gateway Alliance Project today.
Thank you for your commitment to making a difference.
How We Show Up
We are committed to breaking barriers and creating pathways for success by providing comprehensive support services for individuals reintegrating into society and youth aging out of the system. We don’t just support reentry—we create opportunities for transformation and lasting impact through:
✅ Safe & Supportive Housing – We aim to establish a network of transitional safe houses, offering stability and a secure environment for those rebuilding their lives.
✅ Essential Documentation Assistance – We assist with obtaining birth certificates, Social Security cards, and state IDs/driver’s licenses, ensuring access to critical identification needed for employment, housing, and services.
✅ Access to Basic Needs – We support individuals in completing applications for SNAP food benefits, helping to address food insecurity during the reentry process.
✅ Skill-Building & Empowerment Programs – Our programs integrate evidence-based financial literacy, workforce readiness, peer-led coaching and mentoring, and advocacy training, equipping participants with the tools and knowledge to build sustainable futures.
✅ Community Mobilization & Social Change – Through comprehensive training and grassroots engagement, we empower individuals to become leaders, drive systemic change, and uplift their communities.
